  • Doggies

The trip to Battersea was good! Probably not as good as a trip to Amsterdam would've been, but hey... Enough about that.

Unfortunately, they'd had an outbreak of some doggy infection, so a lot of the kennels were closed to the public. Also, the puppies were hidden away somewhere, again to stop an outbreak of something or other. So after getting a train up to London at silly o'clock on a sunday morning, we saw a few staffies...

We then decided to go and speak to someone about rehoming dobermanns. They interviewed us and took all the details, and IRP will be getting a home visit in the next week or so. I'll have to be there as well, as we'll both look after the dogs from time to time because we both work full-time, and I work more locally, less hours and can work from home.

Wait and see what happens. I guess it will be a few weeks still, but IRP is really quite excited about getting a dog again.

  • Kung Fu

Forget about football, never mind about tennis, and don't even mention cricket! The sport of the moment has got to be Kung Fu!!

Everybody goes Kung Fu fighting, fast as lightning and a little bit frightning!

I've been practising my moves, and my lyrics. Only just over a week to go before the film Kung Fu Panda comes out. We saw the trailer in the cinema last week, and couldn't stop laughing!
I hope those outtakes weren't the only funny bits in the film. Can't wait to go see it!

  • Recovered... sort of...

Having almost completely recovered from Holland's defeat in Euro 2008, it's time to get on with things now.

Our trip to Amsterdam is off for now. We're still planning to go, but we'll go when it's not a rushed trip. IRP mentioned going in the next few weeks, but I don't know about that. I'm going back anyway to see my family and I don't know about asking him to come along to that. I don't know if I'm ready for that, and I can't imagine it'd be his idea of a fun weekend away either... It's a shame for now, but we'll go someday and it will be fun.

So instead, on Sunday, we're going to Battersea Dog's home. Or that's the plan so far. IRP is looking to adopt two dogs, so we're going to have a look to get the process started. He used to have dogs, and is now ready to have them again. I've never had dogs, so it's a bit new for me, but then, they will be firmly his dogs, not mine, so it matters a bit less.

    Looking forward to it!

  • Well...

    It's all gone wrong...

  • Quarter final!

Tonight is the quarter final for Holland and I'm sooooo excited!

I hope they do really well! We'll be watching it in the pub! Hopefully it will be a good night!

IRP has bought me a Holland top in preparation, which I think is really sweet! So I'll be wearing that! If everything goes well, it will come in handy for our weekend in Amsterdam as well!

  • The Future is Orange!

Another good win for Holland last night in Euro 2008 against Romania! Not surprisingly, I'm really enjoying this tournament so far! I'm looking forward to Saturdays match, and then hopefully a match Thursday after. And then hopefully, hopefully another final match on the Sunday after the Thursday!

    It's all very exciting!!

The best thing is, if Holland get to the final, we're thinking of going to Holland for the weekend! That would just be the best! The atmosphere in Amsterdam would be great, and it would be really good to go across with IRP for a weekend of cloggy action!

  • Summer days!

Wow! I can't believe I haven't written since I was in Holland! Time really flies! Life's been busy and eventful recently!

Things with IRP are going great! He makes me really happy, puts a big smile on my face! We're getting on really well, and I think it's great! Last week, we went to a little airfield where one of his mates had a little micro-light plane to take me for a little trip! They told me it was a little plane, but really it was a hanglider with a little seat hanging off it. I went up in it and it was fun but I was sooooooo scared!

I've not been loving my job much recently, no motivation at all! Seriously fed up. So I've been looking around, and on tuesday I'm meeting someone in another business unit to discuss possible roles for me. That appointment was made some weeks ago. Then last thursday my manager came to see, to ask if I would put myself forward for another role on a contract we'll hopefully get awarded soon. So I did, and I got the job! So one way or another, I will be moving on and keeping all my benefits. The best thing is that the new job is a level up, so a promotion and a payrise! Happy days. And on tuesday it will be good for negotiations as any offer would have to be a level up as well!

Also, the weather has been brilliant recently, so I've been out enjoying the sunshine! The bandstand is on again on sunday afternoons, which is really good fun!

And finally, Euro 2008! How brilliant is Holland doing?!?!?!?!!!!! I'm really happy about that! Hope they keep it up, it would be great to win it!
